Die Dänen haben bereits 2014 ihren Anspruch auf den Nordpol angemeldet. Jetzt zieht Russland nach. Wobei ehrlicherweise erwähnt werden muss, dass Russland schon 2001 offiziell klären wollte, dass der Nordpol selbstverständlich zu Russland gehört. Damals war man aber noch nicht so weit, diese Frage zu klären. Aber jetzt haben die Russen ein Killerargument gebracht:
“… the claim determinating the outer borders of the continental shelf in the Arctic Ocean is based on the scientific understanding that the central Arctic underwater ridges, among them the Lomonosov, Medeleev, Alfa and Chukotskoye Heights, as well as the in between basins of Podvodnikov and Chukotskaya, have a continental character”
Case closed, würde ich sagen.
