Stark. Ein Ms. Marvel Kurzfilm, mit minimalem Budget, aber umso mehr Leidenschaft von Fans produziert. Aber trotzdem: Es ist zu ahnen, wie toll eine Ms. Marvel-Serie sein könnte. Ich würde sie mir sofort angucken.

Das Marketing zum Deadpool-Film, der 2016 kommt, finde ich bisher ziemlich interessant. Oben das aktuellste Anzeigenmotiv. Das Marketing für Deadpool (Ryan Reynolds) strotzt geradezu vor sexuellen Anspielungen. Deadpool wird als Sexobjekt präsentiert, in Posen und Motiven. The Mary Sue befürchtet das Schlimmste, aber ich weiß nicht…

Ich find’s bisher ganz spannend. Wer, wenn nicht Deadpool, könnte Protagonist einer wirklich interessanten Comicverfilmung werden? Wahrscheinlich irre ich mich eh, zumal Regisseur Tim Miller mir gar nix sagt. Aber was soll ich machen? Ich mag den Scheiß. Zumal das Drehbuch von den Typen stammt, die Zombieland geschrieben haben und der war nicht verkehrt.

Ihr habt es vielleicht mitbekommen: Bald kommt ein neuer Star Wars-Film in die Kinos. Vielleicht habt ihr sogar, wie ich, die bisherigen Trailer verfolgt, immer auf der Suche nach den 2 Sekunden bisher unveröffentlichter Szenen.

Bekanntlich blogge ich nur selten, wenn überhaupt mal, über Film-Trailer, aber das hier ist nice. Jemand hat im besten und kreativsten DIY-Stil den Star Wars Trailer nachgespielt, Szene für Szene. Sweded nennt sich das wohl. War mir auch neu. „Sweded Films are amateur recreations of famous films using limited resources and technology.“

Nach dem Bechdel Test kommt die Bechdel Bill

Der Bechdel-Test sagt euch was, oder? Mindestens zwei Frauen reden miteinander und sie sprechen über etwas anderes als einen Mann. Easypeasy. Trotzdem bestehen ganz viele Filme diesen kleinen Test auch heute noch nicht. Die Bechdel Bill will das ändern.

Die Bechdel Bill ist sowas wie eine freiwillige Selbstverpflichtung, entsprechend wenig Erfolg wird sie voraussichtlich haben. Trotzdem, in Schweden existiert ein Rating-System, das unter anderem den Bechdel-Test einbezieht, bereits. Dass Filmemacher sich verpflichten, mehr Filme zu machen, die den Bechdel-Test bestehen, ist mehr als Idealismus, es kann sich auszahlen.

Dabei müssen auch gar nicht alle mitmachen. In Schweden beteiligten sich anfangs nur vier Kinos und verteilten ein Siegel für Filme, die den Bechdel-Test bestanden. Aber sowas spricht sich rum, wird schnell als Gütesiegel verstanden.

Right now, the world of indie feature films is fucked up.

‚MG‘ […]  is ‚Minimum Guarantee‘ — what novelists would call an ‚advance‘. In the film world, thanks to the miracle of Hollywood Accounting, the MG is likely to be all the money you ever see from a film. (Both „Blair Witch“ and „Lord Of The Rings“ technically lost money, meaning the studios didn’t owe any royalties.)

The only other narrative medium that’s changing as fast as film right now is VR.

Televison’s a refugee camp right now, where half of the hollow-eyed survivors wandering around in a daze are absent-mindedly clutching Oscars.

If you have any interest in gaming as a creative medium, I urge you to download either the latest Unity or the latest Unreal Engine release. They’re astonishingly easy to use; you’ll be able to create a playable game inside about two hours if you have any familiarity with programming or 3D tools, and probably about three hours if you don’t. They’re absolute powerhouses of software, powering most of the latest big releases right up to AAA games in Unreal’s case. Oh, and they’re free. Barring some reasonable royalty agreements, completely free.

That’s insane.

If you’re very focused, have innovative ideas for ways to tell stories through games without spending too much time on them, and are good at making friends with journalists, indie games are an interesting option for a storyteller right now.

VR isn’t just a game-changer — it’s a reality-changer.

[I]t may be that VR fails and the second horseman of the VRpocalypse, Augmented Reality, ends up being the real winner. That’s certainly what Microsoft are betting on with their Hololens.

Kung Fury – Action, Trash, Kung Fu und Adolf Hitler

Kung Fury ist offenbar fertig und kann bei Youtube angeschaut werden. Die ganzen 31 Minuten. Bin vor Ewigkeiten mal über den Trailer zu dem Ding gestolpert und der hat mich total überzeugt. Kurze Einordnung: trashige Hommage an 80er Actionkino. Ein Polizist will seinen ermordeten Kumpel rächen und muss dafür seine Kung-Fu-Künste beweisen, indem er Kung Führer (Adolf Hitler) und sein Schreckensreich besiegt.
